    Katrina Morrisson

    Head of Business Development, UK and Ireland

    Katrina joined Insight in August 2022 as Head of Business Development, UK and Ireland. Prior to Insight, Katrina spent 16 years at BlackRock (including her time at Barclays Global Investors), latterly as DC Practice Leader in the UK Institutional Client Business area and Managing Director in the Strategic Pensions function. Here, her responsibilities included the design and execution of the distribution strategy for defined contribution pension schemes and leading relationships with large, sophisticated DB and DC pension scheme clients. She also held a number of senior business development and relationship management distribution roles for institutional clients. Whilst at BlackRock, Katrina was also involved in the diversity, equity and inclusion effort, holding the position of Co-chair of the Inclusion Committee for the firm’s Ability Network in EMEA. Prior to joining BlackRock, Katrina worked as an investment consultant at Mercer, having started her career within Mercer’s actuarial practice. Katrina graduated from the University of Bradford with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics, and also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.

    Andrew joined Insight in July 2019 as Head of Distribution, EMEA. He is responsible for driving Insight’s business development strategy in EMEA, and working with clients and their advisers in the delivery of outcome-oriented investment solutions. Andrew joined Insight having spent 19 years at BlackRock (including his time at BGI), where he held a number a senior distribution roles with oversight for business strategy, business development and client service for institutional clients. Andrew was also a responsible for the launch and development of BGI’s Switzerland branch. Earlier in his career, Andrew led BGI’s performance measurement function, analysing and attributing investment performance across the asset class spectrum. He holds a B.Comm in Law from Stellenbosch University, South Africa and is also a CFA charterholder.

    Jonathan joined Insight in October 2006 as an Institutional Business Development Director. The Business Development Team is responsible for direct marketing, including to corporates, pension schemes and charities. Jonathan joined from Zurich Financial Services (formerly Eagle Star) which he joined in 1986, latterly as Head of DC Client Servicing with responsibility for their large corporate pension fund relationships.

    He holds a BSc degree in Hotel and Catering Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. He has completed units 1, 2 and 3 of the Financial Planning Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.

    Robert joined Insight in January 2016 as an Institutional Business Development Director. The Business Development Team is responsible for direct marketing, including to corporates, pension schemes and charities. Prior to Insight, Robert worked at Morgan Stanley for over 14 years, latterly as a vice president in liquidity sales.

    He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK. Robert also holds the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) designation.

    Jos Vermeulen

    Jos joined Insight’s LDI investment team in March 2011. In his current role as Head of Solution Design within the Client Solutions Group, Jos works on the design and delivery of investment solutions tailored to address the specific risk and return objectives of Insight’s clients. Before Insight, he worked for Alexander Forbes in South Africa as Head of Special Projects. Jos began his career at PSolve. From there, he moved to Lehman Brothers, where he was an associate in the pension advisory unit, before joining Mercer in 2008 as a senior consultant and principal within the Financial Strategy Group. Jos holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science from the University of Pretoria and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Jos also holds his Series 3 license and is an Associated Person with the National Futures Association.

    Alex Giles

    Alex joined Insight in December 2012 as a Client Service Manager, becoming Head of Client Service in January 2019. In this role, he is responsible for the oversight of service delivery to clients and the wider support of the Client Solutions Group. Prior to joining Insight, Alex spent nine years at Goldman Sachs International as Executive Director in Securities Operations, responsible for EMEA Asset Servicing. He has also held positions in operational client service with Morgan Stanley and Inter Alliance plc. Alex graduated from Liverpool University with a BA in Economics and he also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK. In addition, he holds the Certificate in Financial Planning and the G10 Taxation and Trusts Certificate, both from the Chartered Insurance Institute and he also obtained the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) (formally known as the IAQ) from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

    Ren joined Insight in December 2010 and is Head of Client Strategy in the Client Solutions Group. Ren’s primary focus is on the development of outcome-focused investment solutions using both derivative and physical instruments to improve the certainty of attaining future funding outcomes for our clients. Prior to Insight, Ren spent five years at Towers Watson as an investment consultant, providing advice to pension funds on investment strategy, with a particular focus on liability hedging. Ren graduated with a double degree in Applied Finance and Actuarial Science from Macquarie University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Australia and a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Ren holds his Series 3 license and is an Associated Person with the National Futures Association.

    Joanna joined Insight in June 2014 and is Head of Pooled Solutions in the Client Solutions Group. Joanna joined from Ignis Asset Management where she was a product specialist responsible for LDI and absolute return products. Prior to this, she was a Managing Director at BlackRock where she had spent fifteen years as an LDI solutions and fixed income investment specialist. Joanna holds a BA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and has completed the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK. She is also a CFA charterholder.

    Head of Client Relationship Management, Client Solutions Group

    Marc is Insight’s Head of Client Relationship Management, responsible for the oversight of our team of client directors. He joined Insight in July 2018. Prior to Insight, Marc spent nine years as Partner and Senior Investment Consultant at Mercer. He also held the role of Senior investment Consultant at Mercer for seven years, between 2000 and 2007. In between his Mercer tenures, he worked at Legal and General Group for two years, first as Group Head of ALM and then as Director - Annuities Investment Strategy. Marc has also held actuarial and risk management roles at Old Mutual and Standard Life. He started his career in financial services in 1991, as an Actuarial Associate. Marc graduated from University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg with a BSc in Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

    Simon joined Insight’s Financial Solutions Group in June 2008. He is now Head of Insurance Solutions in the Client Solutions Group and has overall responsibility for the design, implementation and monitoring of investment strategies for insurance clients. 

    Simon works closely with the relevant portfolio managers to ensure that the investment solutions are tailored to the needs of each client and remain efficient and appropriate given changing market conditions and evolving regulatory requirements. He began his career in 1994 and has held actuarial positions at NPI, Pearl Group and at JPMorgan, where he was responsible for structuring derivative solutions to UK and European insurance companies. Simon holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Exeter and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK.

    Joshay joined Insight as an Insurance Specialist in January 2022. Prior to Insight, Joshay was an Investment Analyst within Sanlam UK’s Multi-Strategy Team, where he focused on the management of a portfolio of listed, real asset securities. Prior to Sanlam UK, Joshay was responsible for the management of Sanlam South Africa’s balance sheet capital where he structured investment and derivative solutions for life insurance assets. He started his career in financial services in 2014, working in Sanlam’s actuarial Asset and Liability Modelling Team. Joshay holds an Actuarial Science degree from the University of Cape Town. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK and a Fellow of the Actuarial Association of South Africa.

    Paul joined Insight in July 2010 as the Head of Consultant Relationship in Insight’s Client and Consultant Relationship Management Team. Prior to joining Insight, Paul spent three years at M&G Investments as the Head of Global Consultant Relations. He has also held consultant relationship positions at Blackrock and Gartmore.

    Paul started his investment career in 1999 at Credit Suisse Asset Management. Paul began his working career as a Pensions Consultant holding positions with Nobles Lowndes, the Nationwide Pension Fund and SBJ Benefit Consultants. He holds a BA (Hons) in Ancient History from Queens University, Belfast and an M.Litt in Classics from the University of Edinburgh.

    Paul also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK and the FPMI from the Pensions Management Institute. In addition, Paul holds his series 3 licence and is an Associated Person with the National Futures Association.

    Lennox joined Insight in August 2017 as Head of EMEA Consultant Relations. Prior to Insight, Lennox spent 17 years at Aon Hewitt. Here, he was Global Head of Fixed Income Manager Research where the team’s remit covered traditional and unconstrained fixed income strategies as well as LDI approaches. He was also a member of Aon’s Global Investment Committee. Prior to joining the research team he was part of the Client Consulting Team. Lennox holds a BSc in Statistics and Actuarial Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He also holds a certificate in Investment and Finance from the Institute of Actuaries.
